How we verify plant care facts

Accuracy is the whole product. Wrong care advice kills credibility and kills plants, so every care fact on a guide is grounded in a named, dated, reputable source rather than copied from another blog.

The sources we lean on

• The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) for cultivation, light, and watering guidance.
• University extension services and botanical gardens (for example, Missouri Botanical Garden, university horticulture departments) for species detail and native range.
• The ASPCA Toxic and Non-Toxic Plant List for whether a plant is safe around cats, dogs, and horses. Toxicity is stated as fact with the source.

Dating and re-checking

Each page carries a “care facts verified” date — the real date the page was last checked against its sources. That same date drives the page’s entry in our sitemap. We do not stamp pages with the build date, and we do not bump the date unless we have actually re-checked the facts.
